Sports and Orthopedic Module

Part of the Nanopuncture Seminar Series

About this Module

In the Sports and Orthopedic module, Dr. Shiu will teach participants how to apply nerve plexus resetting techniques to treat common sports and orthopedic injuries. He will demonstrate the bidirectional relationship that nerves have to Qi and how practitioners can use that to facilitate circulation. Participants will learn the anatomy and regulation of tendon homeostasis.

In this module, students will learn techniques to treat:

  • Rotator cuff
  • Piriformis syndrome
  • Pelvic floor disorders
  • Carpal tunnel syndrome
  • Various stages of Tendonitis
  • Ankle sprains
  • Tennis and Golfer’s elbow
  • And more

This module will cover the liniments and herbs that the Shiu Clinic applies for different stages of tendonitis, ligament sprains/tears, carpal tunnel syndrome, and many other sports injuries.

Participants will discover how to combine proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) stretching with specific needling methods.

Dr. Shiu will review post-surgical case studies of neck, knee, shoulder, and other sports injuries and discuss the neurotransmitters and neuropeptides that are released in different tissues.

Learn More About the Other Modules

This compulsory module will cover how to awaken areas of the body that have fallen asleep due to stroke injury, how to restore healthy neurological blood flow to the brain, and how to determine the most effective treatment protocol for each stroke patient and objectively measure their progress.

In this module, you will learn how to properly categorize different forms of gait disorder from a neurological movement perspective.

The voice is one of the main tools that enable us to communicate clearly, and effectively, and to represent our truest selves.

The Nanopuncture System accelerates concussion recovery and treats post-concussion symptoms using techniques that calm the nervous system, reduce tachycardia, increase focus, and mitigate hypersensitivity to light and other dysautonomia symptoms.

The autonomic nervous system (ANS) is like a computer in our bodies that keeps many of our systems running in the “background,” including digestion, perspiration, breathing, swallowing, blood pressure, heart rate, and more.

The skills learned in this module can also be applied to treatment for carpal tunnel syndrome, tennis and golfer's elbow, hand neuropathy, bicipital tendonitis, post-surgical shoulder and hand issues, and more.

The Gut-Brain Axis module is the most recent addition to the Nanopuncture seminar series. In this course, participants will learn the relationship of the microbiome to the brain.

In the Sports and Orthopedic module, Dr. Shiu will teach participants how to apply nerve plexus resetting techniques to treat common sports and orthopedic injuries.

In this seminar, Dr. Shiu will teach the basics of photobiomodulation (PBM), qEEG, and laser therapy and how to incorporate these technologies in a clinical session.
